I'm a fussy Brit journalist who for years struggled to find a decent colorist in NYC. And believe me, I tried: Sally Hershberger; John Barrett; Antonio Prieto, etc. Besides being treble the price, none of them come anywhere the skill level and completely satisfying experience of having Ann at Riah do your hair. \r
A friend recommended Riah after I had some disastrous highlights done for a story--I thought I was going to have to get my head shaved! Ann worked miracles: she salvaged my poor stressed-out locks and sent me out the door grinning with a head of glossy, natural-looking highlights. Now I won't go to anyone else. \r
I love the kitschy little salon, and as much as I love the personal attention I get from Ann, I'm more than happy when she can't squeeze me in and Devon gives me a wicked wash and blow-out!
Pros: Expert color and cuts at super reasonable prices
Cons: None. Well maybe I do wish the salon were closer
