Review content:
I cannot begin to describe how extremely unprofessional this place was during my first visit to the doctor. Where do I begin? I was a new patient going in merely to establish myself as a patient so I brought my forms that I had completed in the mail to my appointment. I arrived on time but waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room. I was then greeted by a unfriendly, stern nurse who I can only describe as having the dispostion of a curmudgeonly 85 year old man who hasn't had his supper. I hadn't eaten since my lunch that day (I had an evening appointment) and for some reason this nurse was highly offended by me intermittently eating Chex Mix in the patient room. (She rudely and very sarcastically asked if I needed a glass of water.) Eager to meet the actual doctor and see that woman leave, I waited 10 more minutes. Doctor Shinn seemed pleasant enough as she answered another female patient's myriad of ailments ranging from depression to ear pus to family problems. No you did not miss anything, I was, in fact, not completing my residency here but simply a first-time patient able to hear EVERYTHING the patient and the doctor were discussing in the next room. It was so painfully unprofessional, especially since they had a noise cancelling machine which wasn't turned on and when I did turn it on myself, did little to block the conversation. I waited 5 more minutes until I came to the pinnacle of my exasperation and shock with the whole situation and finally told the front desk secretary I was leaving (she was the only one who was remotely pleasant). If you want to waste your time on a doctor who does not value privacy, does not have her employees practice the art of every day courtesy/friendliness, and does not consider the fact that your time even matters, then this place is your utopia! Oh yes and they had no problem still charging me the 20 dollar co-pay, even though I didn't see the doctor. So even though I never met Dr. Shinn, there is no way I can respect her since she works in this environment daily and does not attempt to rectify or fix these glaring issues. What a disaster!!!
