I have a lot of calls I make in the area of the Northridge mall and I've always been too much in a rush to eat anywhere but fast food. Finally, my family came and met me for dinner and they wanted to go to Wood Ranch because some friends in Camarillo had told them about it. We went and got seated almost immediately even though the place was packed. I heard this place was good for barbecue -- and it was -- but it was also great on grilled shrimp marinated in balsamic sauce and fresh trout. Wow! My son, the one who wanted to go here, had the beef ribs and he devoured them. He usually doesn't eat much (he's 8) and got so full he couldn't finish his mac and cheese. My wife got the BBQ tri tip and baby back ribs combination with smashed sweet potatoes. True love! We got one dessert to share among four of us and hd trouble finishing it. They take a big ball of vanilla ice cream and cover it with Oreo cookie crumbs and put it right on top of a lake of hot fudge. Oh my goodness. We'll be back! Often!
Pros: Great food, great service. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Kind of a weird, long restaurant layout.
