Today (12/12/11), I met a friend at the store. I was very excited, as my friend said we just had to meet to see the Christmas room with our kids. She has a 6 month old and I have twins who are 8 months old. We walked in and were not greeted by one employee ( there were several starring at us though). We made our way to the Christmas room and proceeded to take our kids out and show them all the Christmas fun. We then broke a rule and put our kids behind the ""rope"" for a quick photo! Our children did not touch anything and again our only 6 & 8 months. Suddenly a older women ( owners daughter we've come to learn about from others who said she was rude) said to my friend and I "" what are you doing you can't be behind there""! And told us to ""get out"" and told us there was ""antiques back there"" and ""didn't you see the rope?"" she then watched as I struggled to get my two girls out. Now yes, we broke the rules but honestly she was so rude about it, she could have told us nicely to please get on the other side of the rope. Secondly, I am not sure they were antiques, third our children did not touch a thing and fourthly our children are 6 & 8 months. We brushed it off until we continued to walk through the store(my kids were in a stroller and my friend carried her son) and another employee came up behind us pushing a cart and didn't even say excuse me...she looked at me like I had a third eye and starred at me until I moved, I have a big stroller so it tookna second. My friend said "" wow the employees here are very rude"" loud enough for another young employee to hear. We continued on and then turned around to see several employees looking our way and talking about us! Honestly?! Our children were quiet and it wasn't like they were running around and touching stuff. We finally felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. Which is too bad because there was a lot of things we liked and considered to buy. My girlfriend and I both have family business that are very well known in the buffalo area and we will definitely be spreading the word of how we were treated. I will not return and shop in other stores that treat me very nice! As for those employees I'd like to thank you for ruining our holiday outing and ask you to remember the Christmas cheer or at least your manors next time.
