Review content:
It's not the most georgeous or trendy venue for getting ice cream. & you can't get flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake. But regardless, Jet Freeze is the ice cream that I love like no other. \r

It has been around for as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid I used to go there after swim meets & volleyball matches, with friends, with my Grandmother on the weekend. You just can't beat such childhood memories for fostering a fondness of a simple ice cream place. & many others share the same experience: it is simply a Beavercreek staple.\r

I have been trying to find the perfect ice cream since I left Beavercreek 12 years ago, searching the Coldstones & mom-n-pop joints of the country in vain. When I returned to Beavercreek to visit I decided to try Jet Freeze once again. And I rediscovered what I have been missing all of these years, what I have been subconsciously comparing all other ice creams to. \r

I'd recommend NOT trying anything fancy. Just get the vanilla soft serve. You don't need anything to distract from the beautifully simple taste. It is soft serve, but for some reason it stays so cold that only in the hottest weather will it drip down the sides of the cone & onto your fingers. Usually it stays put, nice and freezing. The texture is unusual. Not ""fluffy"" like most soft serves, but almost somehow crunchy. I think this is because of the ice-milk quality of it. The taste is very unique. It tastes milder than the overpowering, thick, strong tastes of traditional ice cream. Much more subtle, you can taste the milk. A beautiful thing. (And it is 95% fat free, a sign in the window says.)\r

Ignore the caustic yellow neon lights flickering outside & the unassuming quality of the building. You MUST TRY Jet Freeze!!! Certainly my love of Jet Freeze is fueled by childhood nostalgia, but the vanilla soft serve is truly delicious. I encourage you to shun, for a moment, the ice cream superchains & try something really wonderful.
Pros: Best vanilla soft serve ever, Beavercreek staple, unique, the real deal, not trendy
Cons: Not georgeous
