Review content:
Cathy's Dance Studio has the potential to be a great studio IF you're willing to pay a string of expensive fees. Both my daughters were a part of the studio for 3 years. Besides the regular class fees, there is a mandatory costume fee, which is no less than $65 per class. Each of my girls were in 2 classes, so you can calculate the expense there. While the end-of-the-year performance is at a nice location, the show is not only too long (one of them was over 3 hours), but the Cathettes (made up of the teachers, assistants and some older students) are highlighted too much. The ticket fees are $25 per person, and you have to pay for the students that are part of the show, too. There are a number of parents who wait since the night before tickets go on sale to purchase tickets for the best seats, and on the Sunday morning when the tickets go on sale, it gets a little insane! Also, the picture fee that comes before the show is very costly. We've paid as much as $300 for our girls' pictures. The studio itself is very small and is often, especially on Saturdays, extremely packed, to the point that you have to stand or go outside. You can only see your children in class once a month for a few minutes. There are no monitors, like other studios, for you to see the classes. So what positive things do I have to say? The Director, Michelle, is very nice as well as most of the staff. They do their best to keep the chaos an orderly kind of chaos, making sure the parents are informed of everything they need to know ahead of time. Your children are safe there, and the instructors do try to get them to participate when they are shy or hesitant. If money isn't an issue for you, by all means choose Cathy's Dance Studio for your kids, but since our pockets don't run deep, we had to find a better, more affordable dance school.
Pros: Friendly Staff, many class hours and days to choose from
Cons: Small Studio, Too many kids per class, many fees
