Renter Beware! Posted by a former tenant!
Renter Beware! This apartment complex is very deceptive. It looks great at first glance, even more on a thorough walk-through. BUT, having lived in a one-bedroom with my wife for about 17 months, I found the heat very poor, the AC even worse, and the kitchenette nice to look at but almost impossible to use. There is NO superintendent, only a resident owner who is hard to access and to work with. Moreover, the floors in the apartment were constantly very chilly. Paint and other products were very cheap, too. And even though this is a ""smoking complex,"" I was constantly hassled about smoking IN my apartment, On leaving, I was presented not with my security deposit (or at least a part of it), but with a bill for hundreds of dollars of questionable repairs. The apartment had some water damage and mold, on top of it, but this was not visble until I lived there a while. All in all, Ridgewood is a nice town, and the location was pretty good for access to town center and transportation, but the negatives far outweighed the positives. Finally, the rent was VERY high. Too bad, as the place could be nice. I'd NOT rent in this complex, for the negatives outweighed the positives by a long-shot!
