Review content:
I have a confession to make: my family and I have been stalking the owners of Kokoras Greek Grill at each of their restaurants for the better part of 16 years. The food is what gets you the first time. You have it once, & its so good you can't wait to go back. Its the kind of good food that you can't stop eating, even when you're so full you feel sick. Its Spiros & Demetra, the owners & their charming son, Staci that get you eventually. They come out to the tables, happily handing out hugs & kissing the cheeks of babies. Staci is the ""wine guy,"" as well as a cook alongside Spiros. You'll see Staci come out of the kitchen periodically to cork a bottle of Greek wine for a table of guests, and then hang out & chat for a minute before disappearing back into the kitchen to cook next to his dad. At this point I've tried just about everything Spiros puts on a plate so I'll give you the run down: His calamari is the best I've ever had - VERY lightly battered, super soft (never chewy), and served with homemade skordalia (sp? Greek dip made of potato & garlic). You can't go wrong with a Slouvaki Platter - your choice of chicken, pork, beef or lamb(of course) served with spices & feta, Greek potatoes or rice, & a Greek salad to start. Spiros makes his own gyros meat & its the best you'll find anywhere - I just get the gyros platter so I can get a massive pile of the meat shaved on to my plate & eat it with a fork, but their Gyros ""sandwiches"" are very good as well. His Tzatziki is homemade as are all of his sauces. His salad dressing is worthy of a bottle to take home (you have to bring your own bottle so don't forget!). Their 2 homemade soups (she makes the vegan barley & he the avgalemono) are fresh & fabulous. Spiros daily Specials are a must...any of them. Be sure to order Demetra's homemade baklava & Greek coffee for dessert - Demetra will read your fortune in the grinds when you're done. The food is one thing, but in the end, you'll just love to be there. Pros: Owners, Owners' Son, Staff, Food, Wine, Value Cons: parking, limited seating area-come early-about 4pm
