We live about an hour away from this restaurant and we go there regularly, for the food, for the prices. There are restaurants closer to where we live but we enjoy the food at this restaurant. This is one of the best places to go for tasty Mexican food. I moved from a SoCal area eight years ago where outstanding authentic Mexican restaurants were common (which I miss), seemed nearly almost one on every street, ranging from the upscale to take-out only, but then I moved to Northern CA, and have been disappointed in the Mexican restaurants that I tried around here, especially in the far northern state, but that's until I went to Los Gordos. The food at Los Gordos is very good. The gentleman who is usually at the counter is very nice. I enjoy the casual atmosphere. If I *had* to give constructive criticism; I would suggest updating the seats and tables, updating the decor. I would also love to see them expand and make it into a place to stay awhile. Maybe also offer a separate bar area someday? Pool table area? Don't get me wrong, even with current decor, I enjoy the atmosphere, I would just like to see this place a success, and with that success consider updating and expanding? Even though I do not know if there is more than one location, but it feels like a non-chain-restaurant, it feels quaint, feels like a small family-ran establishment, which I highly prefer over the big-box chain restaurants, I hope it stays that way. I hope this place never compromises the food and prices, I hope it only expands on what they have now. I recommend the super carne asada burrito, one of the best burritos I have had anywhere. This restaurant is a well kept secret. I have hesitated giving my recommendation because we enjoy being able to have a table free when we come in, but I can't often keep these types of secrets, lol. Outstanding food! Can't wait to go back. Don't miss out!
