II wonder if the incredibly rude waiter we had at Cafe Loup believed himself to be tolerating rubes on the left bank instead of slogging unearned attitude in the west village.\r

It wasn't the ""I am just having a bad day"" kind of nastiness, but the kind of nasty behaviour that seems to have tacit permission from the top.\r

Anyway, the food was good. The martini GREAT. The simple dessert we ordered was below average.\r

Unfortunately the rudeness of the waiter eclipsed an otherwise satisfactory dining experience.\r

Maybe this waiter was an isolated experience? The coat check was no prize either. \r
\r
Cafe Loup would do well to read and recite the ""wolf's credo"" proudly displayed in the bathroom.\r

Pros: nice location, interior, clean bathroom great martini
Cons: self important service, mediocre dessert
