Review content:
Great food--we had the Tom Kar Kuong soup (medium spicy), and found it incredibly flavorful and delicious. Appropriately spicy, sour, sweet, and filled with fresh mushrooms, baby corns, onions and shrimp. The beef satay was cooked perfectly, and the peanut dipping sauce was just right.
The delivery was an utter disaster, however. I received a call from the delivery driver asking for directional clarifications an hour after placing our order. That wouldn't be a problem, other than the fact that our delivery driver and I had a major language barrier. To get my order, I had to run down the street about 200 yards, in the pouring rain, to retrieve my food. I saw a driver pulling in an out of a driveway WAY down the street from the correct destination (my house). As 4 cars backed up behind her driving shenanigans, I realized I had to go TO her, rather than the other way around. Otherwise she might still be there trying to inch her way into my neighbors driveway, stacking up traffic behind her for miles. She might have been the worst driver I've ever seen, and she was completely unapologetic for making me run down the street in the rain.
Bottom line, if you're a restaurant with a delivery option, hire someone who can actually read addresses and drive competently. While the food was great, the service was bad enough to cause me to look elsewhere for Thai food in Los Al. Maleyna's continues to be the best option I've found.
