Review content:
I recently made an appointment with Dr. Luce on a recommendation from my dentist. I arrived early for my appointment and was not doing well. I had to wait for another 20 minutes while the doctor saw another walk in patient. I had a bad fall and concussion that exasperated my already critical mental and physical conditions. When I talked to the doctor he said that it sounded like I had a concussion and should be checked by a cranial specialist that he called and left a message for during my apt. He told me he may not hear back before the weekend and that he would call me next week after he talked with her about my apt. We talked about what to get done first. I had told him that there would be $2,000 available to cover apts, tests, x-rays, etc. He told me that he would call my mom and talk to her about my conditions and desperate need for intervention and rehabilitation. The paperwork submitted to Dr. Luce specifically addressed all my mental and physical issues. I was and am suicidal, depressed, anxiety, can't sleep, can't work, head and neck hurt from fall and contusion on my left eye/head area, manic mood swings, confusion, vision problems, bleeding, numbness/tingling in arms, fingers and right leg, panic attacks, trouble breathing properly, etc. The doctor agreed that I needed professional help asap. He assured me that he would be contacting me within the next week to provide the facts and figures about the different tests and the apt. with the cranial specialist. I waited and never received any contact from Dr. Luce. I finally called the office back in a horrible state and left a frantic message for help. I received a generic message from the office manager. I called back the next day when I could function a bit. The office manager (the same lady that needed to be called back to remind then that she forgot to email the paperwork that they required previous to my apt.) I asked to talk to the Doctor and she just made excuses about him being busy. She also was trying to defend all the lack of follow thru and no contact with me about my upcoming tests and apts. I asked again to talk to the Doctor in person since she was not in the office when the Doctor and I discussed everything stated above. I also had to ask for a receipt for my visit that generically stated ""exam"". The doctor was outside his door in the reception area where he once again assured me (witnessed and heard by my friend who drove me to the apt.) that he would call me next week. I am still getting the run around from the office manager and am horrified at the fact that someone in urgent need of help is not being cared for or treated with any consideration. I am still waiting to hear from the doctor. If he did not want me as a patient or did not know how to help me, then he never should have made the apt. (which cost $300 for basically no info. recommendations or help with my conditions) or assured me that he would help. I thought that doctors were supposed to care and help. I will be lucky if I make it. My mental and physical conditions are so hard to live with. I expressed my fear of ending up like my father (who committed suicide) and told him that I did not care to live feeling like this.
Cons: Unprofessional, Uncaring, No follow thru
