Went to the restaurant for Mother's Day for the first time. Had a reservation that we were 20 minutes late for, and the host (who seemed inexperienced) made it seem like he didn't know if they'd have room to give us another table, because they were ""so booked up."" Understandable, since it was Mother's Day. Luckily, there were able to seat us, and glancing around the restaurant I couldn't help but notice that, the entire time we were there, not only was there a large table next to us with a reserved sign on it that stayed vacant the WHOLE time (2.5 hours), but 75% of the inside seating was empty as well. The host was even tuning people away that had not made reservations, stating they didn't have room. Maybe it was his first time hosting. Maybe they were understaffed that day. But I question why he gave our table up after 20 minutes and kept the other reserved table for two and a half hours. Maybe the president and First Lady were scheduled to arrive there. Or maybe the Dalai Lama. I dunno. Bottom line -- food was average, WAY overpriced, and we all decided we'd not eat there again, regardless of the fabulous location. If you're in the mood for a nice, upscale meal that's worth the dough, I highly recommend the restaurant at the Lucia Lodge. Quaint, eclectic place with REALLY good food and service. Expensive, but worth it :)
