Review content:
On the corner of an unassuming block, Silk Road is such a find for those seeking fresh Chinese food. Don't be fooled by its attempt to offer Japanese fare - they only did that to keep up with all the crazy sushi heads in the city. This is the only place we go when we are craving Chinese and don't want to venture too far. \r
Inexpensive and family owned, it is tiny and lacks ambiance, but it always hits the spot. Our favorites: Beef with broccoli, hot and sour soup, tangerine beef and chicken fried rice. \r
They use fresh vegetables and real meat that isn't tenderized and fake-tasting like so many other places. We always bring visiting friends here because it's unpretentious, casual, but delicious. Unfortunately people in LA seem to need trendy, over-priced spots - Don't do it! Go here!
Pros: Yummy, inexpensive basic Chinese food
Cons: Small and lacks ambiance
