For the past 14 years, Panera Bread has helped many charitable organizations through Operation Dough-Nation®, a program that allows Panera Bread and its customers to aid local charities. Panera Bread’s Yorktown Heights Cafe was pleased to make a donation to the Lambert family whose house was destroyed by fire on December 12, 2009. Bill Lambert & Michelle Bonamassa-Lambert, along with their two children, fortunately escaped the blaze, but lost most of their personal belongings and their entire home in the fire. On Saturday, February 6th, Panera organized a fundraising event and donated five percent (5%) of total net sales for the day to the Lambert family. Cash donations from the public were also accepted and included in the donation amount. Also, On March 21, 2010 Panera Bread held a wonderful full day event that pledged 5% of total net sales towards East Coldenham Elementary School's memorial playground project. The joined efforts of both the school PTA and Panera Bread has notably supported the memorial playground that will honor the lives of the students affected by the tragic events that occurred on November 16, 1989. You can make donations and support your community as well! Cash donations can be made by customers in the Community Breadbox™ cash boxes at the registers. These are distributed annually to local charities. Panera also donates unsold bread to local area hunger relief agencies. It's great to see such charitable work done around our communities and it is always rewarding to have the opportunity to help as well. Panera Bread is always creating new and exciting menu items as well. Panera Bread is tempting the wilder side of taste buds this spring with its new bold and spicy Cuban Chicken Panini and new Jalapeño and Cheddar Bagel Breakfast Sandwich. Panera’s bakers have also been crafting some delectable new baked goods including a Strawberries & Cream Scone and Apple Crunch Muffin. Come try Panera Bread's new flavorful additions today! Pros: Giving & Delicious
