Review content:
I had a breast MRI done here April 2007 and I was inside the machine for two and a half hours. I am not claustophobic and the machine does have openings on both ends anyway, that was not the issue. The issue was having to be still for so long laying face down. I was a basketcase when I came out of there. No one warned me that I was going to be there for so long, I had images taken without contrast and with contrast. They did have earphones with my favorite radio station on (they asked). \r
I was referred again this year by my doctor for another breast MRI (thankfully everything has been negative so far, it's just that I am young 40 and my breasts are too dense and have too many cysts and the mammograms and ultrasounds are just too hard to read) anyway I was totally dreading it. This year (Aug.2008) I went to Tower in Carrollwood and as the tech is getting me ready I inquired as to how long she estimated I would be in the machine and she said 20 minutes, I asked if they were doing both contrast and noncontrast and she said yes, so then I told her about my experience last year and she exclaimed ""Two and a half hours!! How can anyone be still for two and a half hours?!!!"" I have found out that Rose does all kinds of MRI's so they do not have the specialized computer programs for breast MRI. I am angry that I didn't know any better and I just assumed that well that's how long it takes, but know that I am the wiser, what happened to me last year at Rose was downright abusive and I do not recommend them.
