The New Testament Church of God in Evanston, Illinois is a full gospel church, whose beliefs are predicated on the principles of the Church of God Church. Our church was conceived in 1975 with seven people from Jamaica, in the basement of one of the member?s home. With devotion to each other and a determination to fulfill Christ?s command to develop disciples, our small group has grown into a multifaceted, cross-cultural congregation who is forever committed to ministering to the Cook County area. We are enriched by the varied backgrounds of our congregation and gladly pray with everyone who comes desiring the will to follow Jesus. We teach the entire Holy Bible as God?s Word and follow the New Testament Christianity as our guide to faith, government, and practice. We enjoy worship, which is reverently informal and based on Biblical patterns. The praise and worship is flavored with a Caribbean atmosphere. Our congregation is affiliated with the Church of God, one of the oldest Pentecostal denominations. The International headquarters is located in Cleveland, Tennessee and our state headquarters, is located in Glen Ellen, Illonois. Through these connections we have the wonderful opportunity to fellowship with over five million multi-cultured members around the world. We are continually involved in regional and world-wide ministries of missions, higher education, literature publication, benevolence, evangelism, counseling, youth, and children.
