Review content:
Since NGUMC elected to have Simpsonwood Conference and Retreat Center in Northeast Atlanta managed by Hotel Equities in July of 2007, the entire process of relying on the facility has gone down the toilet. The North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church needs to take control again and put back the comfortable family feel that this facility used to have. I was especially appalled at the way the staff treated people. One example was when we had made reservations for a group and luckily rechecked our reservations a month before our event, two people in particular stand out as not meant to work with the public, Richard Welch the GM and Jack something that works under him. Talk about completely disorganized. Both like to blame everyone but they cannot take blame for their own mistakes. Anyway, I just wanted let anyone know what they were getting into BEFORE they make a commitment. We had a groups of 100+ and had used Simpsonwood for many year in the past. We were able to reserve space at the last minute at another retreat. There are a lot of places available in Georgia. Needless to say I nor anyone in our group will use Simpsonwood again unless they get rid of the horrible management company and staff currently running the facility.\r
Sincerely,\r
Cheryl Fitzgerald\r
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything else from registration to checkout - Hotel Equities is a very bad company
