St. Peter Academy stands alone among many schools in South Boston due to a number of compelling reasons. Although St. Peter Academy was started in 2004, its roots follow back 50 years prior as St. Peter School, run by the Sisters of Jesus Crucified - dedicated Lithuanian nuns who understood the necessity for education as a tool for the future. St. Peter Academy instituted the solid curriculum and traditions as its foundation for educating youth. From Pre-School to 8th Grade, St. Peter Academy has found the best faculty and principal - people who dedicate their lives to, not only their profession, but their young charges. Class sizes are limited to 20 students while the price is affordable; the math, science, writing and grammar education is challenging; however, no student can sit unnoticed; field trips abound; art and music classes foster creative thinking; there is always an emphasis on alcohol and substance abuse prevention; parents are encouraged to become actively involved with the school; and the students come away from St. Peter Academy forever more trying to find a place that feels so much like home. I know because I have had three children graduate - all of whom are successful students that continue to educate themselves because they learned to love education at St. Peter's. That, my friend, is the best gift you can give your children. Choose St. Peter Academy. Call 617-268-0750 and speak directly with the Principal, Janice Carthas, for more information. Pros: Class size; well educated faculty; dedicated principal; close proximity to downtown Boston; perfect for commuting parents as well as neighborhood students; excellent value
