Review content:
The title of my review says it all. This place is an absolute gem and is going to thrive, I promise you. Greek Islands Taverna can't even hold a candle to this brand new, modern, fresh Greek cuisine! I will never bother going anywhere else again for Greek food, and I have dined at many different Greek restaurants over the years, from Miami to Palm Beach County. If you are someone like myself who likes to dine out and consume the freshest foods with the simplest preparations, natural ingredients & authentic flavors, this place will be heaven to you as well!\r
I was told to try their house made Greek fruit sangria. It arrived to our table ice cold, with the freshest chunks of fruit inside: crisp granny smith apples, oranges, lemon, and strawberries that were macerated in the red wine. The fruit wasn't the least bit old or soggy even, and the drink itself was infused from the fruit with sweetness, yet a slight tang that made it super refreshing. It was a fruity, magical elixir and a must try!\r
I wanted to try a full meal instead of the tapas concept that they offer here, however everyone else in my party ordered food to share; Greek salad, spanikopita, shrimp sagnaki, and calamari. Not ONE person complained about the food, as it was all super fresh with fresh & healthy ingredients! Everything arrived to the table looking so beautiful, just like something from a magazine.\r
My roasted chicken dinner tasted like something my Mom would cook at home. It was such a generous portion, super juicy & all natural and not the least bit gamey tasting. All I tasted were the fresh herbs and imported olive oil that it was marinated in. It was served with tangy lemon potato wedges, and huge freshly grilled chunks of zucchini, eggplant, and sweet red pepper. It was hands down without a doubt, the best meal I have had out this year.\r
For dessert, we were surprised with their baklava, which had mounds of sweet whipped cream, heavenly chocolate sauce, light & crisp philo dough, sweet honey & cinnamon...it didn't even last 5 minutes on our table before it was gone.\r
At the end we made a point of walking up to a gentleman who seemed to be an owner and told him how unbelievable our experience was here, and that the food tastes like something from my kitchen at home. The service and server we had for the evening was flawless, friendly, & so professional. He made us feel so welcome, so appreciated as first time customers, and like we were family already. Be sure to ask for Humberto when you give this place a try, he is the BEST!\r
I can't wait to go back again, I'm already counting the minutes! Try it and you will see exactly what I mean. As first time customers, we wish this place many happy years of success in the future!
