I had a huge problem with my sewer backing up into my cellar for 2 weeks, after trying ourselves to clear the problem, we began to suspect that the water authority had collapsed our sewer when working previously on the road. I went in circles with the municipal authority about this problem and the end result was, they told me I had to get a plumber to come in to prove the problem was definatly not on my end. I called Valley plumbing , I explained the situation, he told me that he would charge me $225.00 whether he got the line clear or not, i agreed to have him come help me. The came, they got an eel supposedly 90 feet into my main line, when he pulled it back a ton of muck came through with it. I myself was not sure what that was. Before I knew it they were wrapping things up and writing up my bill. No more effort was made to unclog or fix or determine the problem. He then mentioned he is subcontracted by the gas company which made me wonder whose side he was really on, he surely wasnt going to take my side I felt against public utility people. He in fact made a call to the water company supervisor before he even began the work. After paying the $225.00 for nothing, I was back to square 1. 2 days later and after speaking with the water company, and a lawyer who was and is willing to take my case against all parties involved, the lawyer recommended before hiring him to try getting a real plumber, so I figured im already in this deep, why not try one more time. I called Roto-Rooter. These people came the same day, they did a hydro jet in my line, what came through was unreal, it WAS a huge clog, but we still didnt determine what was causing it as of yet, BUT the point is, they DO NOT CHARGE IF THEY DO NOT ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING, IT IS FREE. and they also cleaned up a HUGE MESS, they spent a great amount of time with me, explaining in detail what the problem could be, in fact possibly it being a crushed sewer in the road etc. They did not take off in the middle of a find, they got to the end of it. I feel I got burnt badly from Valley plumbing even if I would of gotten charged half maybe that wouldnt of been so bad. I feel it was very poor service. Im very surprised they are subcontracted by the gas companies etc.
