Review content:
I visited this studio from out of town, as I practice yoga regularly, and really wanted to grab a class while visiting the San Diego area. I went to the Ashtanga Yoga Center Improv 4/5 class, and was very disappointed.\r
\r
1. No one welcomed me as a new student, asked my experience, explained how the class would be led.\r
2. There was little community feel-- seemed like a lot of egos in the room.\r
3. The class wasn't a ""class"" per se-- it was more of a workshop, just trying different asanas (poses) upon request.\r
4. Not a workout. Period. No sweat, not much of a stretch either. Disappointing.\r
5. A drop in fee was a whopping $18! But at least I got to borrow a mat for free.\r
6. The instructor practiced along with the class, so didn't adjust or provide guidance to the students in the room.\r
\r
Net net-- go somewhere else if you want a warm, welcoming studio, a good workout, pose adjustments and a stretch/sweat. I would not recommend this studio.
Pros: Some playful asanas, one nice person 2 mats over
Cons: No community, no one in sync, no workout, random class
