A wonderfully casual setting, this is the place to go when you want to get away from chain restaurants. The fare is simple and recognizable to those who grew up with American style Italian food. Surprising is the great value of their finer cuts of meat. Perfect for an impromptu dinner when youre seeking for a bit of comfort in a plate of pasta or hankering a steak without suffering the trappings and expense of a steakhouse. The scene is casual and is accommodating for an intimate couple or a group of friends. If youre not in the mood for a heavy meal, just graze on their lighter fare and hang out by the bocce ball court next to the outdoor seating. Although its not a trendy hot spot to be seen in, it is well away from some of the commercialism and raffish nature of Gratiot.
