Review content:
I highly recommend Dr. Gavin I. Awerbuch to any patient who is a chronic pain sufferer. I had my first appointment with Dr. Awerbuch on Tue. Feb. 26th 2008 and i wish i would have found him years ago. Dr. Awerbuch is like a Guardian Angel sent here from God to help those of us suffering 24/7 in chronic pain. He was so friendly and thorough. His bedside manner was above and beyond any physician i have ever seen. Trust me i have seen pain specialist who have told me i was at the end of my road no one else wanted me now i had to be brain washed and worse comments. I woke in my own feces and was unable to walk this summer because of my severe back injury i sustained giving birth to my 9 lb 9 oz son 11 years ago and was told by many other doctors i was too young for surgery. I had already found another neurosurgeon in 2007 who did emergency back surgery on me and helped me, but i still have other chronic back issues, fibromyalgia, migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression and sleep apnea. And my family doctor no longer wanted to manage my pain meds so i was referred to Dr. Awerbuch. Honestly, i have so many let downs and horror stories from various physicians that i was panicking before the doctor came in to the room. Next thing i know there is this kind man in the hallway peeking in my room telling me he was sorry for running a little behind and would be right in. Dr. Awerbuch actually listens to what you, as the patient, has to say and believes in you. My greatest fear has been that i would have to live in this chronic pain and being a mother it is very hard trying to be normal everyday without relief for my daily 24/7 pain. Dr. Awerbuch not only is figuring out pain management for me, but also scheduled a new sleep study to see if my CPAP needs adjusting for my sleep apnea. And he is checking me in regards to a concussion i suffered in a car accident Nov. 2007 after my back surgery. This Doctor is amazing and truly cares about his patients!
