Review content:
I purchased a mobile home a while back, and asked my agent Jody Bader if she could write up a policy for it. I have several current policies with her (cars, boat, household, snowmobile) and figured we could just add another. My mobile home is located at a resort on Mille Lacs. I was told, 'No, we do not cover that type of vehicle, too many rules and regulations about spacing of units, anchored or not, etc., but your home owners policy will cover your possessions, just not the structure itself. That was from Jody herself. I figured just having my possessions covered would be sufficient, as the structure is less likely to have any problems. Well, someone broke into my place and stole several things valued at around $3,000. I called Jody and submitted a claim. I then found out that I was NOT covered because I was not present during the theft. She just thought it was funny and denied having said it. So, I was given bad information that led me to believe I would be covered when I wasn't, and now I'm out $3,000. Not only that, but I would have taken a policy out with someone else if I had known or been given correct information. I do NOT recommend doing any business with Jody. I did not choose her as my agent, she was given all my accounts when my original agent, Jerry Ballot retired in 2006. This is very upsetting, not only to find I am not covered, but to be mislead in the first place. I have nothing against State Farm itself.
