Review content:
On Thursday night, I went to The Federalist with four others, and we each ordered an appetizer, entree and dessert and shared. On Friday night, I did the tasting menu at Meritage. I thought the service and food at Meritage were both superior. Perhaps Meritage was just hitting on all cylinders that right, but each course, the endive salad, the soft shell crab, the guinea hen, the cheese course and the absolutely fantastic Nougatine Wrapped Apricot Cream dessert were very well paired. I liked that their tasting menu paried excellent local wines that were not necessarily outrageously expensive. For $80 a person, the wine pairing menu was a fine value compared to the tasting menu at many other restaurants. Best of all was the service. Excellent waitstaff and a sweetheart of a manager. Amazing views of the Harbor that you wouldn't get on Beacon Street. They even validated my parking. Pros: Food, Service, Tasting Menu
