Review content:
Both my husband and I had been A-List financial supporters of UCD Vet Med Teaching Hospital (UCD VMTH) for several years. We believed in their mission statement and in the positive press they always seemed to receive. As a health care professional, I support institutions that take risks and employ leading edge technology in order to optimize the care they provide. I wholeheartedly thought this to be the case with UCD VMTH. I was wrong.\r

Our story is way too long for this comment box. I have set up a web site which explains in detail (court transcripts included) our terrible experience with UCD VMTH. That site is: \r
UCDavisBadVet dot home dot mindspring dot com (sorry for the longhand syntax - please copy and paste into your browser and replace ""dot"" with ""."")\r
I should point out that UCD VMTH sued us after our credit card company reversed the charges because they provided a service of no medical benefit and different than the service we agreed to. (Not to mention the fact that they charged us over 2x the estimated cost). I encourage all prospective clients of UCD VMTH to check out our experience there. In short, if something goes wrong with your pet's care, you will find UCD VMTH hides behind their total lack of accountability. In fact, we later learned that UCD VMTH is exempt from all consumer protections-no requirement for standard of care or recordkeeping or financial disclosure or even the need to disclose to you the risks of procedures they are recommending. UCD VMTH does not have to follow the rules every other vet in the State of California has to follow. Even the Calif. State Department of Consumer Affairs agrees with us that the public should know this in order to decide if they want to have their pet treated at UCD VMTH. We are doing our best to protect you from the horror we experienced--you may think at UCD VMTH you are going to get a certain procedure or surgery and that you are going to pay a certain agreed upon contractual amount for that service. As the aforementioned web site will painfully show you, nothing could be further from the truth..\r
