My wife and I were at DeCarli on Feb 28, one day after the latest ""one-star review"" had been posted. Our dining experience there was again very enjoyable. I feel compelled to defend this fine newly-started restaurant against what appears to be a vicious, personal attack against Chef Paul DeCarli and Jana, owners of the restaurant, by someone who attempts to pass themselves off as a Nike employee who apparently doesn't know the difference between the Nike ""swoosh"" and the Adidas stripes. In most Italian restaurants you will find almost obligatory ""standard"" dishes on the menu. I've spoken with Chef Paul previously and found he has the experience, knowledge, and creativity to prepare and present these and other dishes with his own personal flair. For instance, my wife chose the Petrale Sole, the speciality dish of the evening we were there. How often do you see this prized flatfish on a restaurant menu? It's caught right off our coastline, yet it's very expensive for a restaurant to purchase from a freshfish dealer. But my wife enjoyed her large portion of steaming fillets to the point I almost wished I had ordered it instead of the delicious Pork Chop Milanese I was enjoying. Concerning the reviewer's reference to Jana, she has had years of experience serving in exclusive San Francisco restuarants as well as the Pearl's. It's almost ridiculous to think she would treat anyone in such a desultory manner as described by the so-called ""Nike employee."" I'm sure it's obvious to most readers the latest one-star review is untruthful, hurtful, possibly fabricated, and meant to damage the reputations of the restaurant and owners. It's also cowardly and a form of bullying which certainly is not in keeping with the intent of CitySearch reviews. I can almost discern a common thread (cutesy lead-ins, syntax) with more than one one-star review which leads me to believe they have been written by the same individual. This unhappy person should move on. Pros: everything's good!
