Review content:
I have recently been transfered to Atlanta from Chicago and have really missed The Windy City. This new restaurant find is going to help me adjust! I have been using Citysearch as a Guide for several years and Citysearch is considered to be THE resource in most major cities. New York, Chicago, LA and SanFrancisco depends on Citysearch to reach customers and buyers in thos major areas. I use nothing else, so when I needed a place to feel at home in Atlanta, Citysearch was the logical choice. The reviews for PUB 71 made me feel like this was what I needed! We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. The steaks and burgers were very well done and the drinks were mixed with enough care to see that this place really cares about their clientele and getting them back in the restaurant. I was told the owner is a trained chef and that he is usually in the restaurant butwe did not meet him. This is typical of a GREAT neighborhood bar in Chicago or New York. The chef/owner is in the business and really cares about what is happening and how the customers are made to feel. I felt like they really cared and that they realy wanted to make us feel at home and very comfortable and welcome. If you don't necessarily have to have grits and fried green tomatoes, try PUB 71 for some really good comfort food that would fit in any Chicago Irish Neighborhood. I know we will be back, this may be MY PLACE IN ATLANTA! Pros: A Little Touch of the Chicago/NY Neighborhood Pub & Bar Cons: Parking was a bit limited but get there early and stay late.
