I have been living in NYC for the past 3 years and I am glad to be back in Atlanta. While in NY I did get used to really good food and the very comfortable ""corner bar"" and especially the Irish Pubs. In NYC Citysearch is THE site to find the best clubs, bars, restaurants and entertainment. I have gotten very familiar with Citysearch and how well they rate and evaluate the venues. When I started looking for the Best of Citysearch I was pleased at what I saw! I have tried several of the recommendations and had been to Mehans when it was in the PUB 71 location. Citysearch did not have PUB 71 listed in the Best OF. I was surprised! THIS IS WHAT AN IRISH PUB IS ALL ABOUT! Good food, good drink and good friends! The old place, Meehans, was a joke! They tried to play like they knew what they were doing, but you cannot just hang up a flag and call yourself Irish. Just another Bar with NO IRISH flair except a few lame beers. FOR AUTHENTIC AMBIENCE and a TRUE IRISH PUB, TRY PUB 71. The chef comes out and talks to you, asks for suggestions offers new dishes on a regular basis and by the way, he is the owner! Figure that out! IT MUST BE GOOD IF THE OWNER COOKS! See for yourself, this is a TRUE IRISH ""FEEL GOOD"" PUB. I have never been to Ireland but all the Irish in NewYork would LOVE THIS PLACE!
