Okay. I purchased $450 worth of tumbled marble tile for a kitchen backsplash and was charged $500 for install from the owner Rich who claims to have 20 years experience. Firslty, I was only given 2hrs notice (which was left on my answering machine) the day of install. When the installer (Rob) arrived he did not even know the layout (design) he would be doing. After explaining, he took it upon himself to place $10 accent tile's (purchased elsewhere) where ever he chose. On top of this, he did not use spacers, so all of the grout lines were uneven as well as ""untrue"" and butchered. I couldn't even wipe a sponge across it without doing a roller coaster motion. In addition, I received full bullnose and requested half. The tile around my door way was uneven. The left side was lower than the right side. Later found out, installer illegally covered an electrical outlet. After explaining to him all of the issues, he told me that I was too picky. So, when I contacted the store to explain my nightmare the lady JoAnn told me Rob was their ""BEST"" guy. And of course, Rich was unavailable, so she told me that he would get back to me asap. ASAP never came. I called Rich back several times without any responses. When I finally did get a hold of him, he said he was on the other line and would call me back in five minutes. Low and behold, 24 hours went by. When I called him back he told me he had lost my phone number and that he would come out to inspect the job personally. Of course, I recieved a phone call from another employee Tess stating that he could not make it. So I had to re-hire someone to rip it all down and get it PROFESSIONALLY done.
