Review content:
I have degenerate spinal disease and have been experiencing chronic pain in my lower back, legs and feet for a couple of years. I have had quite a few tests done and have seen several specialists. My primary care doctor reccommended that I have Dr. Jackson look at my test results and talk with me about options other than surgery. She said that he was having success with steroid injections but she didn't know if that was a viable option for me. I took off work and arrived early to complete the paperwork as I was asked to do. I sat in the waiting room over two hours before being called. When I finally went into a room a nurse came in and told me that a physician's assistant would come take my information and then I would see the doctor. The assistant asked me a lot of questions and then told me I still needed another test. She left and came back and said that Dr. Jackson did steroid injections. She asked if I wanted to make an appointment and I said I didn't know because I didn't know anything about the procedure. She left again and came back with a pamphlet on the subject. I was told to read it while I was waiting to see the doctor. A few minutes later she came back and said that Dr. Jackson wanted to see me. She directed me to the desk where he was talking to the receptionists. He asked me if I had been for physical therapy. I said that I had and that I didn't feel like it helped. I had another bulging disc since that time. He then told me that he couldn't help me since I didn't want the injections. I told him that I didn't say that. I was there to consult with him and get more information on the procedure. The physican's assistant said that she gave me something to read. She was very rude. At no time did the doctor talk with me privately and go over the film/reports that I had been asked to bring. I had to take time off from work, pay my co-payment and sit for 2 1/2 hours which is very hard to do with a bad back and sciatica. It was a total waste of time and money and now I'm in more pain than I was when I went in. I would never go there again. I've never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally.
Cons: two hour wait for consultation, doctor didn't go over tests
