Review content:
Horrible experience with Al's Auto. I would not recommend them AT ALL. Brought my car in a year ago to have a starter replaced. Not more than a year later, it died (shattered the nose, to be exact). Brought it in again, was charged for the labor, and was then told that something is still wrong with the car, and the starter will break again if I do not fix whatever is wrong with it. I was NOT told what was wrong with the car.. first time I've ever brought it to a mechanic, had them ""fix"" it, then tell me it was still broken. We had to pop start it from then on, not being able to afford bringing it to ANOTHER shop to have them drop the tranny and find what the problem was. It was only after I brought it to Al's for a THIRD time, with a broken starter, when they actually told me it was the flywheel that was missing teeth and causing the starter to break. I was $400 into this starter by now, and for the absolutely unheard of job of replacing a flywheel in a manual transmission Saab, the total cost of the starter job is now going to run me close to $1,000. Al's auto does not stand by their work, even if it is ""guaranteed"". They told me it was the cars fault the starter broke, and that I need to contact a lawyer. (A flywheel only breaks if the starter is bad, misaligned, or loose. A starter should not have a one year life span). I cannot say enough, that I highly suggest you find another auto shop to fix your starter.
