Review content:
Being from NC is something of a curse...I know good BBQ and I am always on the hunt for good pulled pork in New York. My boyfriend had been walking past this place for months and we finally tried it last week. It is certainly not as good as my Dad's but I ate so much, I was miserable. The sauce had a different consistency than I am used to, a little thicker than the vinegar base I grew up on and the sandwich came on two huge slices of Texas toast. They also have this ranch BBQ sauce and I ordered a side of that to try it out...great on the fries! I got a ""hogarita"" from the bar and my friend was plesantly surprised to see ""beergarita"" on the drink menu. In Brooklyn, we call it a margaveza but it was just as good at the Hog Pit. It was our waitress's first night on the job and it showed, but all in all it was good food, good drinks, and a good price.
