Review content:
I live in the northern burbs and was driving in to the city to pick up a few friends for a fun night enjoying the city. We were driving around looking for someplace fun to grab a bite before going out. We were immediately attracted to the colorful, inviting exterior of this new place, NXXT. We learned from the doormen it was the pre-opening event, and even though we were not on the ""guest list"" we were invited in to check the place out. Valet was effecient and reasonably priced ($8). Upon entering we were immediately struck by the energy and buzz in the place.\r \r From the doormen to the waitstaff to the bartenders, everyone was pleasant, courteous and friendly. We found a seat near the front window. I LOVED the fire red chairs and their contrast to the elegant looking marble bar. We snacked on appetizers while we drank. My personal favorite was one called a ""tater tot"" which was actually blue cheese, and steak in a potato ball. They were huge and only $4. The rest of the menu was just as reasonably priced and provided ample variety from various American cuisines.\r \r Now the good stuff... lol the drinks were ample and strong. There was no feeling of timid or watered down drinks here. The music varied as the night went on and the closer it got to 11pm the more ""hip"" the tunes sounded (or was that the drinks?) The sound system was crisp and clear, still it never sounded overpowering or too loud in that conversations were easily carried on with people in a circle of 6-8. All I can say is everyone seemed to really be feeling the vibe.\r \r Definitely a place I look forward to checking out again!!!\r \r Pros: Drinks, food, music level perfect for conversations.
