Review content:
On June 14, we had trouble with our Gulfstream that had a fan clutch engaging too often.\r We parked near Leales at night based on the advice of a member of the Eagles who said several of their people used them.\r I did find that a vacuum hose had been disconnected so when we drove the vehicle it seemed fine. No fan clutch problem.\r Since we were across the street, we decided to let them check it anyway.\r Then we got Ralph (their mechanic). First we were told they had to change the thermostat because the fan clutch WAS NOT engaging. OK go ahead for $400.00.\r Then after Ralph again test drove it and consulted with more senior mechanics, we were told, he needed to change the fan clutch also for now $800. OK.\r Finally after 8 hours we left and the fan clutch started engaging more and more until it was intervaqls of less than two minutes. A nightmare to get back to Southern California. My mechanic here put a genuine GM fan clutch on, made adjustments and the vehicle runs fine.\r I called ""Glen"", the man we had dealt with at Leales, and he told me he was the owner and would review it with his service manager and get back to me. \r We returned the fan clutch to them as instructed, and to this date, nothing has happened. Now I find out Glen is not the owner (probably wishful thinking), but the supposed owner ""Dave"" in spite of promises by his service manager, has never contacted us.\r We have reported this to the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and will publish our experience with these people in hopes others are forewarned.\r Daniel Wiener\r 949 643 2779
