Review content:
I suggested Cafe Eccell to my out-of-town parents for a nice dinner for my graduation and they made reservations. 6 people showed up, and all 6 ordered seafood dinners. I will point out the waitress was great! She was going out of her way throughout the night as things went downhill quickly to make sure we were happy and to make things better. When we first received our food, we ALL realized after a few bites that everything was cold. We sent the food back and a manager came by made excuses and told us that if we order Ahi Tuna rare the middle will be cool. That was only 2 of the dishes and we need that! Everyone else's food was cold, including the sides. He really made us feel belittled and stupid! After about 5 minutes or so they brought out our food and is was the EXACT SAME FOOD REHEATED!!! A restaurant of that caliber should never do that. and it is definitely unacceptable! We then sent it back again, with 3 people changing their orders to steak because they were fed-up with the kitchen and management and figured steak would be a better option in terms of cooking. At this point the manager came back and again made excuses about being busy, which should NEVER be an excuse at a restaurant! The attitude and demeanor of the managers (because at this point, the head manager was brought into the situation) were uncaring and it was apparent they had no intentions of fixing their mistakes within the customers' minds. The new food was brought out and this time was cooked properly. The managers only wanted to give us coupons for a free appetizer next time we visited. We were astonished, as I am a service major and one of the first things we learn is that in a case of a mistake, you ALWAYS go far and beyond to fix it so the customer(s) only remember what you did to fix it, and not the mistake. In the end, which felt like pulling teeth, 2 bottles of wine and only 25% were discounted off the bill. The managers RUINED MY GRADUATION NIGHT!!! I have a coupon for a fee appetizer, but I am sure I will never use it, because they have lost my business, as well as many of my friends who have heard about this story! They can't believe what happened! I mean a friend went to TGIF's the same day and received bad service and the manager took care of the entire bill, no questions asked as well as gave her 2 coupons for a free appetizer or desert and a $10 gift card. How is it that a ""fine dinning"" restaurant in town, Cafe Eccell, doesn't even come close to what a chain restaurant, TGIF's, did for its customers in terms of fixing a mistake!?? Cons: Management was HORRIBLE!
