Review content:
When we first moved to West Linn we went to a vet who extracted teeth and wanted to run expensive tests on a dog who obviously had cancer. We took her in for euthanasia but couldn't deal with the young euthanizer, the metal table or the thought of what do to with the body. That was Dr. Fredericks. So we brought her home. A house call vet came over and pronounced terminal cancer and euthanized her in the comfort of our back deck. After that we sought advice from our neighbors and discovered Barclay Hills and Dr. Ferro, a few miles farther away in Oregon City but fair, humane and reasonable. As well he has a private clinic so there is consistency and continuity as opposed to a franchise vet very close to us. He is convenient to Clackamas County Animal Shelter, so in case a mishap befalls your escaped dog, as it did to one of ours, the injured animal will wind up there. We have always had, as the other reviewer notes, same day service, no upselling of unnecessary services but thorough attention to needed tests. Barclay Hills does not handle small birds but referred us to Gladstone Veterinary Clinic on McLaughlin, where we also impressed with the care (and the new decor!)
Pros: private clinic, reasonable, personal
