Review content:
Dropped in to Skippy's with a few friends for a birthday meal. Prices are a little high. It looks like a normal restaurant, but you have to go to the front counter to order, which I thought was a little odd. They give you a number and then the waitress brings you your food. Drinks must be ordered at the counter as well, and then you take them back to your table. Seemed a little odd that a soda cost the same as the beer. There is a little chip bar off to the side where you can help yourself to as much chips and salsa as you want. Don't fill up too much though, the portions are hearty. Since it was our first time at Skippy's, the waitress brought us some samples of the red and green chile con carne. The red was absolutely delicious. Most chile con carne I have eaten is made with ground beef, but this was made with steak. This motivated me to order the red chile con carne tostada with a beef taco and rice/beans. The rice and beans were delicious, as was the shredded beef taco. If you are looking for cheap eats, this might not be the place. Otherwise, very satisfying. Waitresses were very nice. Pros: red chile con carne, open chip bar Cons: prices
