Review content:
Power outages, minor flooding, false alarms to the fire department because the company refuses to replace some kind of panel until it costs them more to leave it broken than to fix it. The staff is nice, pretty great in fact. They always show genuine concern and seem to stay as on top of issues as is humanly possible. Unfortunately Equity Apartments, who owns the places, couldn't care less it seems. If I were just reviewing the staff I could recomend this place unfortunately friendly people do not make up for the rest. I cannot recomend Gates of Redmond because of the persistent issues that are integral to safe living. Structural problems and not staying on top of replacing faulty fire alarm control panels are not inconvieniences but potentially life threatening. I found out that they have had the same flooding issues in the section that I'm now living in for more than two years now. If people get fed up with the non-permanent fixes and leave they just rent it out to new people in the summer. Setting a blower up to dry out the place does nothing to prevent future water damage. The pump that has apparently been fixed many times does not work during power outages and so a power out during a rain storm means what? More flooding! Super! This is WA state its not going to stop raining. The staff were on the flooding issue pretty quickly but stringing an extension cord out in the rain to get the pump back on is not a permanent fix. Now that the power is on the pump is working again but there is still water seeping in. Nice staff. Some of the other sections of apartments are probably okay. But why chance it if you can go elsewhere? \r
Nice location, nice staff but the repetative other issues means we won't be renewing our lease or recomending The Gates of Redmond to anyone. I'd like to like this place. Too bad Equity isn't as great as their staff.
Pros: Location, staff, prompt response most the time, friendly atmosphere, pool, okay parking 70% of the time.
Cons: Repeated flooding in some units, power outages, old appliances, cheap components not replaced until the have no other choice.
