Review content:
I have never written a negative review of anything. If I don't like something, I simply avoid recommending it. However, after the experience I had today at La Puente, I feel obligated to try to save my fellow Salt Lakers from a horrible dining experience. I didn't know it was possible to make Mexican food so bland. The stuff my wife and I ordered tasted like it had been boiled and it seemed that the chef had taken absolutely no consideration as to how the final product would taste. I had to dump a bunch of tobasco sauce, salt, and pepper just to choke my food down. My wife had to do the same thing to her chimichanga, We were both starving when we went there, and when you're really hungry you usually take a charitable view toward the food as long as there's a lot of it. But the food I had today wasn't worth the trouble. I've had way better meals at Beto's. A lot of people seem to like the smothered burrito, and maybe that's the one dish that keeps la puente in business, but their nachos, Mexican steaks, and Chimichangas are all just really bad. La Puente Restaurant's dot Wasatch Front, and my only explanation for the restaurant's apparent success is that a lot of people in Utah have no idea what Mexican food should taste like. The food at La Puente is dreadful. It's tasteless, bland, dry, and no matter how cheap it is, it's just not worth it. Pros: Won't cost you much Cons: Not worth even that much. Taco Bell has more taste
