You can tell a great deal about the integrity of a company when they make a mistake. \r We went into Elite and found a great slab of marble that worked for our bathroom remodel. Their price was not much more than another supplier I found in Nashville, so we chose Elite because we like to use locally owned businesses when we can. They were friendly and helpful in the showroom, and the person who came to the house to measure the space (we replaced the bathroom countertop) was fast and professional.\r When they came to install the slab in the bathroom, they found they had cut it wrong. The only way to make it fit was to cut the slab right down the middle and glue it back together, leaving a noticeable (and in my opinion, kind of ugly) seam. When I called Elite to speak to the owner (Chris Brown), I asked what he thought I should do, since what I really wanted was what I had ordered, and he told me ""this job was just a remnant piece"" and he was not going to order more marble to do the re-do the job correctly. I told him I needed to talk to my husband and I would call him back. My husband called him a few minutes later, and Chris was more apologetic to my husband. He said the measurements had been entered into the machine incorrectly. My husband negotiated a small discount (which I think they should have offered) and they finished the installation. When the installers drilled for the faucet and handles, they put a crack in the marble behind and in front of one of the faucets, and a chip by one of the cold water handles. Ugly seam, cracks, and chips. Disappointing experience all around. We were about to hire them to replace our kitchen countertops as well, so maybe this was a blessing to see how this company handles problems. Sometimes, having integrity and doing the right thing costs a little time and money. Next time, we will try to find a company who values customer satisfaction. There are plenty of them out there.
