Review content:
I hadn't been to Breton Village in over a year but stopped in the other day...and was not impressed by what I saw. It felt like if I shouted, the place would echo! I saw only one other mall visitor. I know that they are in the process of a major renovation, but I almost wonder if it is a futile effort - too little, too late. Breton Village really caters to a specific demographic - very wealthy women over the age of 40 - and it's evident in the type of shops. Leigh's, Jos. Banks, etc. - and half of the stores I used to know aren't even there anymore, like the seafood restaurant and the Broadway store. That does not bode well for the mall. The fact is that these wealthy women have a ton of other places to shop now, like Daniel's and the Rivertown area, and Breton Village just isn't cutting it. Then for "average income" people like me, the mall is beyond our means. Even the children's bookstore is overpriced. I like to shop local, so even though I knew I could get a book collection online, I went there to see if they had it. They said they could order it for me - for $30 more than it sells elsewhere. No thanks. I'm not sure that this mall is going to make it.
