Just got back from Bistro Catron and OH MY GOD! Where has Chef Justin been all our lives?? He is doing absolutely amazing things with his food and his creations simply speak for themselves. The restaurant just debuted their nutritional menu and we had the Salmon served on a salad of fruit, mint, and yogurt. There was just something so different in the wild combinations of the salad that kept me eating until there was absolutely nothing left. The salmon was just about the best fish I've EVER had in ALL of Houston. The pork dish was amazing as was the bacon wrapped chicken. But the show stopper of the night was the bacon brownie. As weird as your mind may think it is, this desert is absolutely nothing that you could ever think it would be. The play of fun in your mouth with each bite is amazing, and the Chef has truly captured the reason why I love combining salty and sweet. This is definitely one of my favorite places to dine in Houston now and I'll definitely be going back very soon. Be sure to check it out on a Thursday when the restaurant has live music to accompany its happy hour. Tonight, there was an awesome saxophone player! I have some great photos that I'll upload from my camera soon that shows off the ambiance of the place. Pros: Absolutely Innovative Foods Cons: None!
