First, before you get snowballed into this ""amazing"" dining experience, notice that I think these reviews were written by owners, owner's friends/family or employees. You can check out same people leaving reviews on Urbanspooners website too. Just listen to the wording ...except the Groupon one.
Speaking of Groupon, that's where we got our incentive to try this place out. We had seen it and were interested. We TRIED to go last Sunday (10-10) and it was a disaster. We left before anything could ruin our family day. Here goes.....
We pulled up and patio was a disaster. Not an indicator of the food, but something I noticed. Definitely doesn't help with first impressions. We went in and were seated at a table. Needed a high chair for 1 yr old and hostess brought one out that was missing a piece at the bottom and was coming apart at the top. Got a new one and waited to be greeted. And waited. And waited...Noticed when we walked in that there were a few other tables in there, but as we had plenty of time to look around, EVERYONE was waiting. Done with dinner and looking for ANYONE to clear table, waiting to get ANY food at all. Waiting.
Another couple comes in WAY after us, gets greeted by waiter who is telling them that something is free today, not sure what, just sure it was because they were crazy short staffed. One poor guy looked like he worked in the kitchen but was out in dining room as waiter and proceeded to dump glass of water on girl at a ten top. We're still waiting for someone to come by. I go ask if they're short handed and BOTH hostesses (2, I know, it's crazy!) said yes. We got up and left. Hostesses asked if we wanted to speak to owner. We said no thanks and went somewhere dependable.
Now, here are my questions.....Why in God's name were there two hostesses, why weren't they helping out, clearing food/getting water (we could have used it) and if owner was there, why weren't they doing something to fix the disaster of a dining room?
As we left they put up sign saying closed until 4p.m. which was probably best thing they could have done. If only they had done it before those other poor tables got stuck in there!!
Sad thing is, I HAVE to try it again because I bought a Groupon. Guess I won't be having the seafood cannelloni!! :0
