Review content:
I used to frequent this ""so called"" pub. It not bad if your looking for a bar with a bunch of college age kids. The staff is kind of on the rude side and I doubt any of them have been to England. The food is fair at best and is very Americanized!!! Burger and fries, salad, soup, sandwiches??? What the hell? Just because you have bangers and mash, fish and chips you can get at any restaurant and London in your name that doesn't make you a pub. First thing first, when I walk into a pub I want it to feel cozy and like home. This feels like a bar and no pub serves HARD liqueur. Second, I want ""ENGLISH"" beer and don't want it to be over priced! Wow... so you have Boddingtons and Guinness. Big deal!!! I'm just so feed up with this place. I don't want a Juke box at a pub either.
You want my recommendation.... go to Bonn's Lair on 36th and J. This is probably the most Authentic English Pub in Sacramento I've seen. I toured Europe with one of my bands back in 2000 so I know a good pub when I see one. Great selection on English beer like Maredsous, Bombardier, etc. Fish and chips are the best I've had and their prices rival anyone!!! Cheers!!!
