Review content:
I recently took my boat into SOS on a referral from a friend of mine and was very disappointed with the service. I brought the boat into the shop in April to get a tune up and replace the water pump. They took 2 months to complete the job. This job should have taken under a week. They charged me for 5 hours labor. This tells me that my boat sat around for a month and a half then they decided to work on it. I called every so often and got the run around about how they were ?still working on it?. When I came to pick it up (after 2 months - did I mention that) they told me that the boat might need some ?carburetor work? in the very near future. I was floored. I would think that they would have discussed this with me when I called numerous times throughout the repair. Anyway I picked it up went out tot the lake and proceeded to get stuck out there because the engine would not continue to run at idle. I was NOT going back to SOS so I took it over to Marine Max on El Camino. They told me that there were 2 primer lines that were completely missing from the carburetors and that the timing was way off (I paid SOS to time engine & make sure it ran correctly). I took it back out to the lake and it ran great. I would not recommend SOS for service because of this experience. Take it to Marine Max they are very professional and very reasonable in price.
