""Tacos and Sake?"" That was the title of the article that just came out the day we went there. I didn't even know until I got there.
We had the Eggplant Tostada with Heirloom Tomato Salad, the Sausage & Spinach and the Shitake Mushroom & Braised Onion Quesadillas for appetizer. With the appetizers I drank a glass of their Ceja Vino Casa Red blend that I got to like 2 years ago when I first visited the Ceja tasting room in downtown Napa.
For entrees we had the Green Chile Chicken Tamale Plate and the Pan Seared Salmon Taco Plate. Everything was just very flavorful and really good. The Salmon taco was the bomb and the mango serrano salsa that came with it complemented it amazingly. Just as well as the Snow Maiden nigori sake. I love nigori sakes, but never thought of having them with a taco until Ariel, the owner of Bistro Sabor didn't recommend it to me. It was a perfect match for the salmon taco.
For dessert we had the freshly made churros and the almond flan. Both were amazing.
AND the dinner without the drinks only cost $45 for 2 people. The prices are amazingly affordable.
They won us over and we loved everything so much that we went back the next day and basically had the same dishes, which wasn't very smart of us (but we loved them so much), because they have tortas and pupusas and we want to try those too, so we'll have to go back again. :-)
It's not a full, table service restaurant, you order your food at the counter and you get a number and they bring the food to your table, but with prices this low and food this good, who cares?
The two guys who run the place are very sweet and make everyone feel like they're at their house visiting the family.
Can't recommend the place enough.
