Despite that notice, I have lived here at Canal Overlook Apts for almost 2 years. Not too long, but long enough to not have any serious incident happen to me.\r
\r
Overall, I like living here.\r
\r
I really like the indoor parking garage that offers protection to my vehicle. Compare the enclosed garage to the outdoor garages of apartments nearby . Worse, some people have to park on the streets. Sometimes, people do break into cars and steal your stereo, or other valuables.\r
\r
The maintenance people also ""try"" their best to get their work done in a timely fashion. I remember having a leak problem with my sink. So the maintenance guy installed a new sink for me.\r
\r
I don't like the public laundry room. The price went up, and to wash AND dry clothes, it' costs $1.50 each.\r
\r
I like the fact that this apartment is near the canal. I like jogging along the canal during teh spring and summer time to exercise.\r
\r
What I dislike about this apartment is the loud and noisy people who walk along the canal at night. They like to sing loud, scream, chase each other and giggle loudly. Ah, so annoying. I even had to call the police once to get these kids to shut up, screaming at 3AM on a weeknight.\r
\r
I also don't like the thin-crust ceilings. You can always hear the people above you walking or in my case, stomping. ""coonk coonk coonk."" So $*(%%# annoying! Oh well, I already told the office about this problem, and the peeps above try their best to not stomp, but it's hard to contain the noise when the floor creaks.\r
\r
PS: I'm a tenant of this apartment. I'm not management office (otherwise I wouldn't have posted that notice to warn potential tenants), nor am I that concerned neighbor, because I wouldn't have posted some positives about living in this apartment complex.\r
Pros: clean apartment, well painted, nice fitness room, new laundry machines, indoor parking garage
Cons: noisy people along the canal, thin-crust ceiling (hear neighhors above stomping), expensive rent, old refrigerator, office personnels constantly changing
