My family and I sent my grandma for rehab after she had surgery. We thought Barberton Regency would be a good place since it had rehab and dialysis all in one. IT WAS NOT. The nurses, doctors and social workers ARE VERY RUDE, NOT FRIENDLY OR HELPFUL AT ALL. They also try to keep you with communicating from your loved one. My grandmas phone was NEVER by her side (which we requested time and time again, and was promised it would be). It was either on top of her light, over on the window sill or on top of her i.v. \r
\r
And their rehab?? PATHETIC!!!! The only rehab my grandma had was sitting in a wheelchair out in the hallway. WTF kind of rehab is that?? Whenever we would visit, we had to walk by the rehab room. What were the physical therapists doing? Rehab? NO!! They were sitting in the room, reading magazines!!\r
\r
My grandma was promised to be out of rehab in 30 days. She never came home -- she died over there because they wouldn't let her come home. They starved her, and when she couldn't breathe, they didn't do anything for 2 DAYS!! They waited 2 DAYS for any surgery to put in a chest tube.\r
\r
Bottom line here is that if you care about your loved one who needs rehab, DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. YOU WILL BE MAKING THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE.
Cons: Dirty rehab floor, staff is very unfriendly, parking is bad
